The word Hekademia is rooted in both ancient Egypt and ancient Greece. Plato studied in Egypt for 13 years, where the word “Heka” referred to magic, or the primordial force behind gods which could be summoned in rituals. Most sources say that Plato’s school was called “Ἀκαδημία” which is ancient greek for “Akademía” - the root word for Academia or “Academy.” but some sources say it was likely known as “Hekademia” which we think is probably inspired from his 13 years of studying in Egypt.
